IN SHORT: a guided tour for food-lovers, to enjoy the sounds and colors of the local farmers’ market, to taste Roman street food and culinary excellence from all over Italy… because in Rome, good food is always at home with us!

IN MORE DETAIL: A walk through a thousand flavors, to experience the more earthly side of the Eternal City. We’ll stroll through the fruit and vegetable market, smelling seasonal fruit and freshly baked bread. We’ll identify new trends in the city’s cuisine, between globalization and the endurance of tradition! For those with a sweet tooth, we can choose from a renown chocolatier, a homemade ice cream shop, a colorful confectionery, or we can look for the legendary “maritozzi” (Rome’s famous cream-filled sweet buns). Hopping from taste to taste, our next goal is lunch, perhaps with a sandwich of roasted pork from the nearby town of Ariccia or fried food served in a paper cone. Top it all off with a fresh seasonal fruit cup, a Sicilian granita or cannoli.
If instead you desire a “signature dish”, choose from a Trapizzino with beef tongue (or other delicacy!!) or the classic white pizza with mortadella, a boiled meat sandwich from the Testaccio district (even the New York Times wrote about it!) or a tasty bruschetta with olive oil (be sure to taste the new oil if it’s in season), and a chunk of Romano sheep cheese with a nice glass of wine. Naturally we start (and conclude) our tour with a robust coffee or a fruit shake. Bring an appetite and forget your diets!
Some small tastings are included in the price of the tour.

AN INTERESTING OPTION: There is an option of concluding the tour with a cooking workshop in Ancient Roman or Renaissance cuisine.
